Afternoon Enrichment Schedule Changes November 30th-December 11th
Posted by Dawn Lorenz on 11/23/2020
Dear OLV Preschool Family,
As we move into our Thanksgiving holiday break I want to thank all of you for continued diligence and prayers in helping to keep our preschool safe and healthy. I have always indicated to you that as long as we are able to operate safely we would continue to remain open. After much discussion with our partner schools, Parent Advisory Board, and other area preschools we have decided to modify our hours of operation for the two weeks following Thanksgiving break, November 30th-December 11th.
Given the 11% increase in statewide COVID-19 cases and the probability for travel and interaction with family and friends over the break we will use the modified schedule presented in our Reopening Plan to temporarily cancel afternoon enrichment programming. This plan minimizes the need to re-group students from different classes and decreases the possibility of transmission between classes in the event an illness is suspected in our school. The modified schedule is as follows:
7:30AM-8:00AM Early Morning Drop Off
8:10AM-9:00AM Preschool Drop Off
9:00AM-11:45AM Morning Preschool
11:45AM-12:00PM Preschool Pick Up
This reduced schedule will allow us to continue to offer early drop off and preschool in the mornings. We will plan to resume afternoon enrichment on December 14th. We remain mindful of our responsibility to keep our entire community safe - from students to teachers to staff and their respective families for this holiday break. Please know that we do not make this decision lightly.
In order to ensure the safeguarding of our health and that of all our OLV Preschool Family, it is up to each of us to engage in appropriate health and safety measures both in and out of school. If you are traveling or seeing family during this break please follow the guidelines presented on the Department of Health website https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Travelers.aspx. While a negative COVID test is permissible for school re-entry after travel, we strongly recommend families who have spent time out of the state or with people from out of state to self-qurantine for 14 days if possible.
Prayers for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving for all of you.
Blessings,
Dr. Lorenz
