Weekly Wrap Up! Week 11

Posted by Dawn Lorenz on 11/13/2020

Dear OLV Preschool Family,

It brings my heart so much joy that we get to continue to be in person! Thank you for all you do to help us keep our school safe and healthy. As we move into the holidays and traditional family visits I encourage you to continue to be cautious, follow masking and social distancing recommendations, and wash your hands often. New states have been added to the travel advisory with the Department of Health. For a full listing visit the PA Department of Health
Every little thing you do out of school helps us to stay in school longer, and I am grateful for all of those little things!

Last Day: November 16th!
Our Gardner's Candy sale helps us to purchase school supplies that we use throughout the year like construction paper, paint, glue, scissors, and laminating film. You can either hand in orders to the preschool by November 16th or  share our fundraising site with family and friends: GardnersCandiesFundraising.com with our Group ID # 10-1897. Online orders will be shipped directly to everyone who supports our sale online.
One more week to visit!
This year, because we aren't able to host an onsite book fair, we invite you to shop virtually with us from November 9th-November 22nd. As a bonus, OLV Preschool receives 25% back in Scholastic Dollars to use for books and other classroom items for our school!
Visit our fair at https://www.scholastic.com/bf/ourladyofvictorypreschool for a selection of books for all ages! All items ship to your home, and you receive free shipping for qualifying orders over $25! Note, in order for our school to receive credit for your purchase you will be asked to create a free user account with OLV Preschool when you visit the scholastic book fair page.
Please Help Our Adopted Families
We are excited to work with the Saint Vincent DePaul Society once again to help two local families during the holiday season. Below is information on family size and ages to help us gather food and toiletries for them for Thanksgiving. A list is attached with suggestions on items to donate. Donations can be dropped off until November 20th.
The "C" Family
Grandma, at 49-years-old  is raising her three little grandsons.  The boys are ages 3, 5 and 10.  Heather is doing her best to provide them with a stable home and helping with their homeschooling.  The family’s financial situation has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.  Grandma is on disability but had been cleaning houses to supplement her income. Grandma is most grateful for the help.
The "L" Family
Mom, and Dad are in their late 20's with a daughter age 6 and two sons, ages 4 and 1.The dad is working in a food processing plant.  After full-time work through the summer his hours have been cut and have not gone back to full-time. Mom expressed much appreciation for helping their family over the holidays.
Coming Soon, Raise Craze!

We have reimaged our traditional "biggest fundraiser of the year" for 2020 into a virtual "Acts of Kindness" event. We will dedicate the three weeks from November 20th - December 11th to serving our families and community and asking that they in turn support the educational needs of our students.  Look for more information to come on Raise Craze and how you can get involved early. next week!
