    Academic Overview

Our Lady of Victory Catholic Schools offer an engaging academic curriculum that is tailored to the developmental and grade-level needs of our students.  The academic curriculum is guided by the requirements and guidelines set by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, as well as the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown Education Office. Our schools have been recognized by Middle States and the Keystone Stars program as safe, engaging learning environments that promote appropriate academic development of enrolled students.

Our Kindergarten through 8th grade classes offer a rigorous academic curriculum. The OLVCS faculty and administration are committed to using up-to-date, evidence-based teaching strategies and educational materials. Year after year, OLVCS students post strong scores on standardized testing, giving evidence of the strength of OLVCS academic curriculum and standards. High school teachers and parents, alike, repeatedly comment that OLVCS graduates are well prepared for the academic challenges of high school and beyond.

At Our Lady of Victory Preschool it is recognized that while children develop at somewhat predictable rates, each child is nontheless an individual.  Therefore, the OLV Preschool staff is committed to providing a secure and nurturing environment where a child can comfortably grow socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually.  At OLV Preschool, it is believed that preschool should be a time for creative exploration and discovery and the learning of new skills through activities which are first and foremost fun for the child.
