    OLVCS Remote Instruction

In response to the coronavirus outbreak and in compliance with Govenor Wolf's directive and conjunction with the State College Area School District, Our Lady of Victory Catholic School is providing remote instruction for all OLVCS students.  Remote instruction will continue until the end of the school year.  The last day of school for all OLVCS students is Thursday, June 4, 2020.

Our teachers have not instructed from a distance before...and it is amazing how creative they have become as they embrace this challenge for our students.  We ask that all remain flexible and patient, as our school seeks to provide quality remote educational opportunities to all our students during the coronavirus outbreak.

All grades will use Google Classroom as the homebase, but teachers may use Zoom meetings, recorded lessons, YouTube channels and more.

Beginnning the week of April 20th, core subjects (Religion, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) will be taught Monday - Thursday.  Assignments may be due on Friday or over the weekend, but no new work will be assigned for these subjects on Friday.

Specials teachers will make assignments and periodically schedule Zoom meetings. Specials assignments may be completed on any day. Friday can be used to do the assignments for Specials and complete outstanding core subject assignments.

Students should work to submit assignments by the given due dates, but OLVCS is sensitive to the needs of families.  Students who need more time or are struggling to keep up with their assignments should contact their teacher by email.  We are working to keep our remote instruction program both flexible and meaningful for students and families.

In general, OLVCS teachers monitor email and assignments 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Parents and students may email the teachers at any time, but keep in mind that they will be checking and responding regularly during the "school day."

Questions regarding remote instruction should be directed to your student's homeroom teacher.

Please keep all those affected by the coronavirus outbreak in your prayers.
