Our Lady of Victory Catholic School
Snow Sports Club Guidelines 2026
The OLVCS Snow Sports Club takes place on five (5) Friday afternoons, beginning on January 10, 2026 and ending on February 6, 2026.
New for 2025: Tussey Mountain is only offering 4 lessons.
Time: Club hours are 4 PM to 7 PM (3 hours). Lift ticket/rentals are valid 3PM to 9PM.
If there is no school, a student may still use their club membership to ski or snowboard on the designated date, but the parent/guardian must transport the student to Tussey Mountain and supervise the child.
Parents/guardians must arrange for transportation for their student(s) to the Tussey Mountain Resort.
OLVCS Snow Sport Club members are expected to maintain a grade of “C” or better in all subjects.
Helmets are required for all OLVCS Snow Sports Club participants. Students will be required to verify that they have a helmet in their possession or that they will be renting one at Tussey PRIOR to heading to the slopes.
Any student who refuses to wear his/her helmet will be required to sit with the OLVCS Snow Sport Club chaperones inside the Tussey facility until he/she is picked up by his/her parent/guardian. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
OLVCS Snow Sports Club members are expected to practice safe skiing and snowboarding habits, including, but not limited, to:
Using the safety bar on all lifts
Following Tussey signs/instructions on the slopes
Controlling speed and staying on the marked trails
Using trails suitable for their snow sport ability as indicated by the instructors/chaperones
Club members may take ski/snowboard lessons as part of the club. Lessons must be purchased in 4-lesson blocks (one per session). Detailed information about lessons is on the Tussey Mountain Website.
OLVCS Snow Sports Club chaperones are ONLY responsible for OLVCS club members.
The Tussey Mountain Ski Area is large, and it is impossible for the OLVCS Snow Sport Club chaperones to supervise all participants at all times.
OLVCS Snow Sports Club chaperones will be present on the hill and in the lodge at Tussey Mountain from 4PM to 7PM to supervise students in the club. Students should use the time after 6:30PM to return rentals and pack up gear and equipment.
OLVCS Snow Sports Club members must alert one of the club supervisors that they are leaving with their parent/guardian, before he/she leaves the resort.
Any OLVCS Snow Sports Club member remaining after 7PM will not be supervised by OLVCS staff or OLVCS Snow Sports Club chaperones.
Any OLVCS student with a lift pass that allows him/her to ski/snowboard after 7PM will NOT be supervised after 7PM by OLVCS chaperones.
All OLVCS students must be picked up by their parent/guardian or designee from the Tussey Mountain Resort at the designated pick-up location. Mrs. Waltz will inform parents of this location prior to the first day of club.
Any OLVCS family member (e.g. parent, guardian, or sibling) or student can purchase lift tickets, etc. through the program at a discounted price on the Tussey Mountain Website.
Parents/guardians are responsible for supervision of skiers/snowboarders who are not in the OLVCS Snow Sport Club.
Due to the limited availability of lessons during our club time, Tussey Mountain only offers lessons for children in grades 3 - 8.
Tussey Mountain will be moving from Meal Cards to Resort Credit this
winter. Resort Credit is tied directly to an individual's RFID card and can be purchased
online or in person. Old Meal Cards will still be accepted in the cafeteria but for the
best experience we recommend converting them to Resort Credit in the main Ticket
Office or over the phone.
Meal cards are NOT the same as Tussey Mountain Ski Gift Cards and can only be used in the Lodge for food and drinks during the winter season. Meal cards cannot be used in the Fun Centre or Ticket Office for purchases.
A student is NOT considered registered for the club until all online registration/payment is completed AND a signed copy of the OLVCS permission/consent form is submitted to the school office. See "Registration Info" for more details.
Questions regarding the OLVCS Snow Sports Club should be directed to Lauren Waltz.
