Kindergarten
Students that go to Kindergarten are able to develop their faith and build a relationship with God. A Catholic Kindergarten program serves as a roadmap for both teachers and students as they embark on a journey with God. Students learn how to use critical thinking skills, communication skills, creativity, and learn how to collaborate with one another. In the Kindergarten environment, students will learn from a curriculum that is aligned with the PA Standards. Students will also develop relationships with teachers, classmates and members of the OLV staff. In our Kindergarten environment, the students will use the latest technology, such as a Promethean board and iPads. Students will also complete STEM activities.
While the OLVCS Kindergarten curriculum is academically rigorous, our experienced Kindergarten teachers know that their students learn best when material is presented in a fun, engaging way. Further, they believe that Kindergarten is not just a time for academic growth, but also an important period of social and emotional development and special time to learn about Jesus' love for each of us. Hence, our teachers balance traditional instruction with other effective activities to help each student to both master key academic concepts and grow developmentally and spiritually.
