Music

All of our students enjoy Music and the benefits of Music Education. At Our Lady of Victory Catholic School students in Kindergarten to 5th grade have one music class per week. Middle school students have two classes per week.  The OLVCS Music curriculum is guided by the standards of the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

In Music class, OLVCS students actively participate in a variety of rhythmic activities, including reading and playing rhythm with percussion instruments and boomwhackers. They are also challenged to develop and compose their own rhythms.  Students study certain aspects of the elements of music each year. They will also learn about families of instruments, musical theatre, and different genres of music. The history and lives of artists, composers, and innovators of the music industry are also discussed. 

Interested OLVCS students in 4th grade to middle school can join the choir. The choir preforms at the Christmas Concert.

Students have the opportunity to learn an instrument with our Band and Strings teachers.

Students in grades 3 through middle school are able to tryout for the annual musical.
