Our Lady of Victory Catholic SchoolThere are so many wonderful things for your child to look forward to in Kindergarten at Our Lady of Victory Catholic School. He/she will get to go to “the big school,” learn to read and do simple math problems, make his/her own choice for lunch at the school cafeteria, and look great in his/her uniform. He/she will also learn more about Jesus and our Catholic faith, make new friends, and possibly ride the school bus.
At OLVCS are two Kindergarten classrooms, with about 15-18 students in each. The lead teacher for classroom KA is Mrs. Holly Hillier, and the lead teacher for classroom KB is Miss Lea McCartney. Each Kindergarten teacher is supported with a dedicated instructional aide.
While the OLVCS Kindergarten curriculum is academically rigorous, our experienced Kindergarten teachers know that their students learn best when material is presented in a fun, engaging way. Further, they believe that Kindergarten is not just a time for academic growth, but also an important period of social and emotional development and special time to learn about Jesus' love for each of us. Hence, our teachers balance traditional instruction with other effective activities to help each student to both master key academic concepts and grow developmentally and spiritually.
With the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, our teachers and administration have a hightened awareness of the health and safety needs of OLVCS, including our Kindergarten students. Our Kindergarten follows a comprehensive health and safety plan in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and other serious infections. We encourage you to review our health and safety plan and contact us with any questions you might have.
