• OLVCS Grading For Remote Instruction
    4th Marking Period
    SY 2019-2020

       

    In light of remote instruction and the challenges it has posed, OLVCS has adopted the following grading system for the 4th marking period of SY 2019-2020:  

    Core Subjects:
    Core subjects include Language Arts (including Reading), Math, Religion, Science, and Social Studies.

    Grades 6-8 (Middle School):

    • All core subject grades will be assigned as per OLVCS's established grading system as summarized in the Parent/Student Handbook (ie. as per previous report cards).


    Grades 1-5:

    • Grades in Language Arts (including Reading), Math, and Religion will be assigned as per OLVCS's established grading system as summarized in the Parent/Student Handbook (ie. as per previous report cards).

    • Grades for Science and Social Studies only will be assigned as follows:
      • S - = Satisfactory minus: student has checked in and completed a few assignments

      • S   = Satisfactory: student has participated the majority of the lessons

      • S+ = Satisfactory Plus: student put forth an exceptional effort and completed the majority of assignments


    Kindergarten:

    • All core subject grades will be assigned as per OLVCS's established grading system as summarized in the Parent/Student Handbook (ie. as per previous report cards).



    Specials:
    Specials at all grade levels include Music, Library, Technology, Art, Physical Education, Health, and Spanish, and grades will be assigned as follows:

    • S - = Satisfactory minus: student has checked in and completed a few assignments

    • S = Satisfactory: student has participated the majority of the lessons

    • S+ = Satisfactory Plus: student put forth an exceptional effort and completed the majority of assignments


    Notes:
    OLVCS middle school students and their parents may keep abreast of grades using PowerSchool.  Elementary students do NOT have access to PowerSchool. Questions regarding grading should be directed to the student's subject teacher.
