Our Lady of Victory Catholic School
In response to the coronavirus outbreak and in compliance with Govenor Wolf's directive and conjunction with the State College Area School District, Our Lady of Victory Catholic School is provided remote instruction for all OLVCS students. Remote instruction continued until the end of the school year, June 4, 2020.
We were blessed to have amazing teachers, who embrace the challenge of remote instruction for our students. We are also very grateful to all our students and families, who were able to remain flexible and patient, as our school worked to provide quality remote educational opportunities to all our students during the coronavirus outbreak. We are proud of all our students, especially our 29 graduates!
Grading in response to remote instruction was modified. The 4th marking period grading ruberic can be found on the navigation bar. Questions regarding remote instruction and grading should be directed to your student's homeroom teacher.
Thank you to all the families whose students have already returned their school-issued education materials. If your family still has materials, please, contact the school office to arrange a time to return these materials to the school. These items were given on loan and are needed for the next school year. Questions regarding what to return to the school should be directed to your student's homeroom teacher.
Middle school summer reading and math assignments have been posted. Questions about these assignments should be directed to the middle school teachers.
Moving forward to SY2020-2021, OLVCS will follow recommendations of the PA Department Health, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Diocese for a return to school plan, and OLVCS plans to offer "in-person" education Monday-Friday, for all OLVCS. The academic calendar for SY2020-2021 has been posted, with a planned start date of Tuesday, August 18, 2020.
OLVCS realizes that there are students and families who may be in a high risk category and these students may not yet be ready for a return to "in-person education." To meet the needs of these OLVCS students and families, OLVCS will be offering a tuition-based, remote learning program for the 2020-2021 school year. A physical space/desk will be held in the classroom of student who is enrolled in the the remote option, so that the student may return to a "brick and mortor environment" when he/she is able. More details about this remote instruction program, as well as the in person instruction, will be shared with the OLVCS families by email and posted on this website.
Please keep all those affected by the coronavirus outbreak in your prayers.
