     Printable IXL Directions and Log

    Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - IXL Account:  If you are new to the school or do not yet have a Math IXL account, contact Mrs. Rokita at rokitaj@olvcs.org to make you an account.

Step 2 - Diagnostic Test:  Complete Math Diagnostic Test on IXL.

    • Click on the Diagnostics tab at the top... then press “Step into the arena.”

    • Then, make sure you select Math.  In the top right of the page you will be able to select the subject by pressing the button below.

    • Complete the diagnostic test -- this may take a couple sessions.  Continue until it tells you that you are done.

    • Log date you finished the diagnostic test on Log Sheet (at end of directions).

Step 3 - Weekly Practice:  The diagnostic test will give you recommendations of topics to practice.  Each person will have their own recommendations.

    • Log on to your IXL account before you start practicing -- otherwise after a certain number of questions or minutes, you will be prompted to login or buy an account.  You will not get credit for practice if you are not logged in.  Always check the top right corner to make sure you are logged in.

    • Complete at least 30 minutes of Math IXL practice on your recommended topics in Math each week.  Keep all of your work you used throughout the summer on lined paper.

    • Log all practices -- date, amount of time, and topic(s) practice -- log on the last page.  Click here for log sheets.

    • Complete practice at least 6 weeks throughout the summer.  Each week you must complete a minimum of 30 minutes of Math IXL Practice.

**The teachers can see all of the IXL practice you complete.

    Step 4 - Return Log:

Return you completed IXL log the first week of school -- We will be checking the accuracy!

**Leave the log empty for weeks that you did not complete practice.
