Safety tips for morning arrival and afternoon dismissal
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during the first few weeks of school with the morning drop off and afternoon dismissal. The safety and security of our students, families, and staff are our first priority and we will continue to monitor and re-evaluate our current procedures in an effort to maintain security and efficiency.
A few reminders and request;
1. As part of our on going security improvements, we ask that all parents of students who drive their children to school in the morning to please use the rear entrance until 8:00. A major security concern is too many entrance points to monitor and limited resources to do so. The gym entrances both front and back are well staffed and monitored and provide the most safe and secure access for students before 8:00. If you arrive after 8:00 please use the main entrance as the gym doors will be secured after 8:00. As always, if you have an appointment or need to drop something off at the office before 8:00 you may use the main entrance but please try to avoid parking in the bus lane. There is plenty of parking in the rear of the building near the preschool and activity center.
2. When you are dropping off your student(s) in the ‘drop off line’ please put your car in park as the kids are unloading. Accidents happen and this is the easiest way to prevent one.
3. If you need to come to the school after 2:00 please park to the rear of the building. We need all of the available space in front of the school to safely get all of the busses into the loading zone. It makes it very difficult if not impossible to get the busses in if cars are parked in the spaces in front of the preschool and the school office.
