Our Lady of Victory Preschool
At OLV Preschool we believe early education founded in Catholic values helps children to know and love God. Starting preschool school is a big step for both children and their parents/guardians. At OLV Preschool our goal is to help your child develop, no matter where he/she starts.
Developing A Love Of Learning
At Our Lady of Victory Preschool, we believe that preschool should be a time for creative exploration and discovery and the learning of new skills through activities which are first and foremost fun for the child. Further, we recognize that while children develop at somewhat predictable rates, each child is nontheless an individual.
The OLV Preschool curriculum meets or exceeds the guidelines set by the Pennsylvania's Learning Standards for Early Childhood for all age levels. Parents of OLV Preschool students can be confident that their child is receiving age-appropriate instruction and will develop the skills needed to be prepared for Kindergarten.
Keystone STARS (Standards, Training/Professional Development, Assistance, Resources) is Pennsylvania’s quality rating and improvement system for early and school-age care and education programs. Keystone STARS provides families with a tool to gauge the quality of early learning programs. We are proud that OLV Preschool has been designated as a Keystone Star 3 school, and we working toward earning the Star 4 (highest level!) in the coming year.
Developing A Relationship with Christ
Importantly, at OLV Preschool we celebrate that we are all God’s creation, and we seek to help children know Jesus as their friend. Further, through our Preschool and Pre-K programs, children are introduced to Catholic prayers and liturgy. For example, our teachers teach our students simple prayers and songs, and celebrate Catholic feast days and other religious holidays. Our goal is to help each child to develop a relationship with Christ and to help each child learn to speak to Him as a friend.
Developing Trust in Community
The OLV Preschool staff is committed to providing a secure and nurturing environment where a child can comfortably grow socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our experienced teachers and aids must meet annual guidelines for professional development. Additional classroom volunteers are from local universities and the parishes of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Church of the Good Shepherd.
