Applying for Tuition AssistanceBackgroundOur Lady of Victory Catholic School along with the Education Office of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown makes use of FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment platform to help evaluate requests for need-based tuition support (financial aid). FACTS works with nearly 5,000 educational institutions and over a million families each year, helping them achieve their goals. They have been in business since 1986 and specialize in working with schools like ours.The FACTS Grant & Aid platform is a third party data collection point. The FACTS Grant & Aid platform is separate from the FACTS online tuition payment service used by OLVCS. Further, at no time is the personal financial information that has been submitted to the FACTS Grant and Aid shared with OLVCS personnel.Parents/guardians are encouraged to download the FACTS & Aid Assessment Information Sheet to learn more about the program and how it works.
EligibilityIf your family meets the income-guideline criteria, it is almost guaranteed some level of tuition assistance at OLVCS. The income eligiblity guidelines for the 2019-2020 school year is posted below.
Family Income Guidelines for 2019-20 School Year
To be considered for the first round of income-based tuition assistance awards, parents/guardians must complete the FACTS Grant & Aid online application by March 15, 2019, with all tax and income information submitted by April 15, 2019.How to Apply1. Complete of an application through the FACTS Grant & Aid platform by March 15, 2019.2. Pay application $30 application fee.3. Submit all supporting tax and income information to platform by April 15, 2019.What Happens Next?Once the complete FACTS Grant and Aid application has been reviewed by Diocesan personnel, the Office will notify the parent/guardian of the family by mail whether or not the family qualifies for tuition assistance (scholarship). This generally occurs by June, however, it may take longer.Qualifying families who receive a letter from the Diocese with a voucher (at the bottom) MUST sign the voucher and submit it to the school office.
