Reading Competition Team
Our Lady of Victory Catholic School participates in the yearly reading competition sponsored by the Central Intermediate Unit. Students in 4th through 6th grade are welcome to join in. The competition is held in the Spring on a Saturday at a local high school auditorium.
In preparation for the competition, students are required to read books from a specific list. Usually beginning in January student members meet regularly afterschool to discuss the books and practice answering questions about the characters, storyline, connections between other well-known literary works, and the literary devices used in the books. Parents and guardians are welcome to help with this preparation.
Information about the formation of the Reading Competition Team will be announced in the morning announcements, included in the Principal's Weekly Announcements, and posted on the website. Parents and students interested in participating are welcome to contact the Reading Competition Coordinator.
